We met in a coffee house in east Belfast. Me, eager to get news of all I have missed this summer in the area where I work. He, keen to hear the story of the summer from my end. He wasted no time in asking. Barely had his backside touched the chair than he asked ‘so what was it like?’ and I find myself more than willing to tell of the great adventure.
Having traversed the terrain he related an anecdote concerning a well-known preacher and scholar of our acquantaince.
‘I asked him,’ said my friend, ‘what would be the first thing he would do when he got to heaven?’
He replied, ‘I will walk straight up to God the Father, look him in the eye and say, ‘so it was all true after all”
I love that story.
