Friday's Five: The Scribe Jamboree

Once again Radical Torah instructs me, an Irish Christian, on the beautiful complexity of Torah in Paying Attention to Detail.

I like this post from Gareth over on Green Clouds because it alerts me to the fact that there is space for dialogue here, but it’s shut down if I claim sole property rights on the particular and controversial term. If you want to know what the term is, go to the post!

Chutney is excellent again with a thoughtful post MySecret.tv: In search of brokenness. I found the website that sparked his reflection to be a sad place, reflecting what happens when faith is individualised and the practice of confession is lost. Who pronounces absolution on me?

Peregrinatio is back…and he made me laugh with You’re Pitiful. Check it out.

Finally, I know it’s Friday’s Five, but I’ll give you an extra one for free (I’m just a great guy!) becasue these two were just crying out to be linked: Shawn Anthony on Lofi Tribe, (and the creator of Scribe) posted a hilarious headline on moonlighting priests. Andrew Jones (aka Tall Skinny Kiwi) posts on the issue of charging a fee for preaching/speaking at conferences and churches. He has taken the principled position of not asking a fee, but might Shawn’s option be a possibility?
